On Monday, Sept. 29, the professional dancer, 37, paid tribute to Boss on what would be his 43rd birthday. On Dec. 14, 2022, Stephen died by suicide at age 40.
In the years since, Holker and their children have continued to celebrate his legacy. In Monday's Instagram post, she shared how she and their children celebrated his birthday. The couple first met in 2010 on So You Think You Can Dance and married three years later. Holker was already mom to daughter Weslie, 17, whom Boss adopted. The couple also shares son, Maddox, 9, and daughter Zaia, 5.
“Happy heavenly birthday Stephen. We love you and still feel all your love ❤️. We celebrated by doing some of your favorite things Korean BBQ, Comic book store and cookies and cream,” she wrote. “Sending you all our love and support and appreciate yours.”

Her carousel included a photo of the four gathered around the kitchen counter smiling with an Oreo cake, and each child held their own cupcake with a singular candle.
The next photo captured the younger siblings smiling with their mom in a comic book store. Maddox smiled for the camera, showing off a Batman comic book, and Zaia sweetly smiled, holding up a Hershey’s chocolate bar.

The family's day concluded with enjoying Korean barbecue together, posing in the restaurant with Holker hugging her son while her two daughters embraced each other.
Holker’s final photo captured the family with Boss during Christmas time. In the family photo, Zaia is still a baby and is seen cradled in her mom’s lap. Maddox was laughing with a big smile as his older sister held him in her lap, and Boss stood behind the whole family.

Since his death, Holker has opened up about the initial days following Boss's suicide. In January, she told PEOPLE that he had been battling "scary" demons, including a hidden drug addiction and unresolved childhood trauma.
She also shared that she was able to team up with resources that helped her handle the loss, including the National Alliance of Mental Illness and Maple Counseling.
"I've learned there's so many other resources that a lot of people don't know about. I've had so many people reach out to me needing to talk, and if I've learned anything, I've learned that mental health can impact anyone at any time of their life," Holker said.
"People that have a lot of light, they still have gone through a lot of dark," she said. "And that's okay because you can't have one without the other."
