Former N.Y.C. Mayor Eric Adams has responded to Andy Cohen after the Bravo star described his term as mayor as “chaotic” and “horrible” in a rant during CNN’s coverage of New Year’s Eve 2025 in New York City

"If anyone actually cares about him, they’ll tell him to get help," Adams wrote on X of Cohen

This comes four years after Cohen's similar rant about former Mayor Bill de Blasio also went viral

Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams has slammed what he called Andy Cohen's "drunken rant" during CNN’s coverage of New Year’s Eve 2025.

Appearing on the NYE show alongside his co-host Anderson Cooper and actor B.J. Novak, Cohen, 57, held up a shot glass at one point as he began to lay into the ex-N.Y.C. mayor just moments after his term ended, per a clip shared by the New York Post.

After Cohen's rant — in which he described Adams' stint as mayor as "chaotic" and "horrible" — the politician, 65, criticized the Bravo star in an X post on New Year's Day.

Sharing a link to an article, Adams wrote, "My response to @Andy: AA. Another sloppy drunken rant."

"If anyone actually cares about him, they’ll tell him to get help. New Yorkers aren’t laughing with him. They are concerned about him. Public intoxication is a disease. He should seek help," he continued.

Adams went on, "He was safe in Times Square because we did our job. Again," concluding, "Seek help. AAA: Andy’s Alcohol Anonymous."

PEOPLE has reached out to a rep for Cohen for comment.

Cohen's comments came four years after he went on a similar rant on the New Year's Eve show about former Mayor Bill de Blasio as he was leaving office back in 2021.

After Novak, 46, joked during Wednesday's show, “Oh are we going on a de Blasio style [rant]!” the Watch What Happens Live host continued, “I mean, he got his pardons.” [Cohen appeared to be referring to corruption charges brought against Adams being dropped in April 2025. Adams was never found guilty of wrongdoing.]

Novak then jumped in with, “Andy! Andy! We’ve got to cut you off!” as Cohen carried on, “I’m just saying, great. You got your pardons. Go off into the sunset. We’ll fiddle with what we have, with what you’ve left us with.”

Cohen did not stop there, despite Cooper’s attempts to diffuse the situation. Meanwhile, Novak suggested that Cohen simply “can’t help himself.”

“You pardoned your way through four years, and all the clubs, we’ll see you there,” Cohen continued, per the Post. “I just want to say, goodbye, Mayor Adams, you did it, you did it, you did it, didn’t you?”

The TV personality had made several jokes about drinking throughout the day on Wednesday, indicating on X that he was planning to consume tequila that evening.

Later that night, Cohen shared an image on his Instagram Stories of himself with a drink in hand while dancing just moments after midnight.

The next day, Cohen said he had "a ball" on the show and suggested "we were a tad overserved (by me)" in an Instagram post while reflecting on the night prior.
