Bob Weir's legacy is living on through his magical music performances.
Following the news of his death on Saturday, Jan. 10, the Grateful Dead musician is being remembered with numerous photos and videos from throughout his career, including a resurfaced clip from Weir's 2016 appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Weir, a co-founded of The Grateful Dead, died on Saturday after dealing with "underlying lung issues," according to an official statement posted on his social media pages. The beloved guitarist and vocalist was 78.
Just hours after his death was announced, the Instagram page for Bravo's Watch What Happens Live resurfaced footage from Weir's 2016 appearance on the late-night program, where he teamed up with John Mayer for an impromptu jam session. Mayer, 48, began playing with the offshoot band Dead & Company in 2015, and has been doing so for over a decade now.
In the throwback clip, host Andy Cohen asked Weir and Mayer to "indulge him" by playing a little something, so the two musicians broke into a seamless rendition of "Friend of the Devil."

The performance was loudly applauded by the studio audience, as well as Cohen, who was visibly beaming with joy while listening to Weir and Mayer do their thing.
"Fare thee well, Bob Weir," the caption on the WWHL Instagram post read.
Cohen, 57, also shared a personal message about his friendship with Weir to Instagram on Saturday, where he reflected on his "first Dead show" in 1986 in Alpine Valley, Wis.
"Bob was just a speck on the stage from where I was, but man was his voice fierce and smooth… it felt like rays of sunshine were coming out of his mouth," Cohen wrote in his moving tribute to Weir, with whom he developed a friendship with over the years.

"I feel SO BLESSED to have gotten to know Bob and the equally wondrous Weir family through my friendship with John [Mayer]," Cohen added. "He came on WWHL a few times and when he talked about Jerry [Garcia]’s passing he referred to it as 'checkin' out.' That felt so graceful a way to put it, and a testament to the fluidity of all us in this world. Bob checked out but his music is going to live gloriously forever, and so will he."
"One of the absolute coolest and best to ever do it. ⚡️" his post concluded.
