Mel Owens has found love again. **

The second-ever Golden Bachelor gave 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb tech Peg a promise ring at the end of Wednesday night’s emotional finale. **

“I trusted you and you trusted me and you told me you had confidence in me that I’d make the right choice and here you are,” Mel told Peg on the beach in Antigua. “I have something. I have a ring and this represents our commitment to love to give time to figure out together what our future holds. What do you think?”**

“I agree,” Peg replied. “I think it would be absolutely wonderful, we’re just completely on the same page about that.”

The couple appeared for the first time together on the After the Final Rose ceremony, where they revealed that their relationship has only gotten stronger in the months since the cameras stopped rolling. However, Mel hasn't gotten down on one knee just yet.**

“Well, you know what’s nice? Being 60 and going through life, you get to write your own love story. And we’re on the same page,” Peg said. “That’s a love story that we get to write the way we want to do it, and to continue to grow our love, continue to spend time with our families.” **

She continued, “That’s the nice thing about being in your 60s and in your golden years is being able to do what you want to do with that connection you have with somebody.”

Still, Mel and Peg also confirmed that they're both in love with each other. "I'm in love with him, one hundred percent," she added.**

Mel gave Peg the promise ring after his other love interest, Cindy, departed Antigua following a tense conversation about their future as a couple that began in the previous episode. At the time, Mel was unable to provide Cindy with any concrete answers about their relationship — or if he even wanted to get engaged in the end.

Their conversation carried over into the finale, with Mel admitting that he didn't plan on getting married to anyone until at least two years from now. The confession took Cindy by surprise. She noted that she needed that level of commitment from him rather than just having to wait and see if their relationship would end in a trip down the aisle.

I was so hopeful," Cindy said as she wiped away tears. "It hurts really bad. From day one, I told everyone that’s my guy. I still think we would be a great match, but tonight is just really sad. I had hoped this was it, he was the one. I’m so disappointed.”

Mel was "shocked" by Cindy's self-elimination.

"The date with Cindy, it was perfect. I came in tonight thinking there’s a future, but she quit," he said. "I don’t have that choice — she’s gone. I don’t know what I’m gonna do.” **

Cindy later confirmed in a sit-down interview with *Golden Bachelor *host Jesse Palmer that Mel did not try to talk to her again after she left their date. Although, she noted, she didn't want him to chase after her.**

“My decision was made and I had the information that I needed," she told the host. "Mel was not in it for a relationship in the way that I was. And that’s fine — everybody deserves to have the love that they want. I wanted something different.”

Mel later sat down with Cindy to discuss her departure on the finale, with Mel repeatedly claiming that Cindy left before they could have a proper conversation about their relationship in the Fantasy Suite. However, Cindy noted that she’d heard everything that she needed to hear on their date.

She even revealed that she’d told Mel that she’d be interested in moving to California in order to start a life together. “I didn’t interest me, though,” he replied.

The *Golden Bachelor* finale will be available to stream tomorrow on Hulu.
