Bad Bunny previously performed at the 2020 Super Bowl alongside J Balvin as a guest for the show headlined by Lopez, 56, and Shakira, 48.
This summer, he had a 30-night residency, No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico from July to September. Up next for the three-time Grammy winner is the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, which kicks off in December.
"What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage," Jay-Z, who oversees selecting the Super Bowl Halftime performer with Roc Nation through a contract with the NFL, said in a statement.

"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself. It's for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history," Bad Bunny also said. "Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
He also posted on X about his upcoming gig on Sept. 28.
"I've been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I'll do just one date in the United States," he wrote, alluding to not making any stop in the United States for the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour amid the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) immigration crackdown under President Donald Trump.
