Kevin Federline shared on the Monday, Nov. 10 episode of Talk Shop Live that his sons Sean Preston and Jayden James have been in contact with their mother Britney Spears after the release of his memoir You Thought You Knew

He also shared that he wrote the memoir with the intention of having his sons reconnect with Spears

The "Lucky" singer previously responded to claims Federline made in his book and defended her relationship with her boys

Kevin Federline says that he wants his sons to have a “stronger” bond with their mom, Britney Spears.

The professional back-up dancer shared on the Monday, Nov. 10 episode of Talk Shop Live while promoting his new memoir You Thought You Knew that Spears, 43, has been in contact with their two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, since the book's publication.

"We haven't talked specifically, but I know that she's talked to our sons, which is good,” Federline shared.

He noted elsewhere in the interview that his boys “are trying to find a way to mend a bond between their mom,” and that was something that he was fully in support of.

"They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always, always have, always will,” he said. "It's instilled in them. And I've always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom."

The 47-year-old noted that he wrote his memoir, in which he details his sons’ alleged turbulent relationship with their mother, with the intention to reconnect Spears with Sean Preston and Jayden James, and noted that was "definitely a possibility" now.

I know that a lot of people think that this book hurts that situation, but we've done everything else," he said. "We've tried every single thing. And when you're dealing with a situation like this, if I have to be the bad guy and everybody has to hate me, well, so be it. I'll do that for my kids to be able to have a relationship with their mother."

"I'm really hoping that through all of this, through all this turmoil, that there's light at the end of the tunnel. I see it, but it's gonna be a difficult road and it's gonna take time,” he added.

However, the “Lucky” singer has shared that she does not feel the same way about his book. She shared a statement in mid-October, in which she called out Federline for "constantly gaslighting" her and defended her relationship with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

"I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys," Spears wrote. "Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life."

Spears went on to say of Preston and Jayden, "Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by [their] own father for me. They need to take responsibility for themselves. With one son only seeing me for 45 min in the past 5 years and the other with only 4 visits in the past 5 years. I have pride too. From now on I will let them know when I am available."

The "Gimme More" singer then took direct aim at Federline's memoir, saying, "Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here."

A rep for Spears also responded to Federline's memoir and his allegations in a statement shared with PEOPLE on Oct. 14.

"With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin," they said. "All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir."
