Quinta Brunson quickly shut down pregnancy rumors following a New Year's Eve post on her Instagram Stories
The Abbott Elementary creator and actress jokingly added that the new year was "already getting" her in a follow-up post denying the speculations
Brunson filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Kevin Jay Anik, in March 2025 after three years of marriage
Quinta Brunson quickly shut down pregnancy rumors following a New Year's Eve post.
On her Instagram Stories, the Abbott Elementary creator and actress, 36, shared a mirror selfie showing herself enjoying New Year's Eve festivities in a cream sweater and beanie with a festive headband on top. Brunson was positioned at an angle that appeared to show a bump in her midsection; however, she quickly shut down all pregnancy rumors in a follow-up post.
"Not preggers," she wrote. "Sweater in odd position. Not 2026 already getting my ass."

Brunson brought in the new year surrounded by friends following her divorce from her now ex-husband Kevin Jay Anik in March 2025. According to court documents previously obtained by PEOPLE, the actress cited “irreconcilable differences” for their split. The pair got married in October 2021 and their date of separation was listed as “TBD.”
She also indicated that the pair had “entered into a postnuptial agreement which governs the disposition of their property” and requested each party be responsible for their own attorney’s fees.
In a Bustle cover story in June 2025, the Zootopia 2 star opened up about her rise to fame, explaining the difficulty of keeping certain parts of her life private.
“Even if you don’t give a lot, people want whatever they can get, and will take whatever they can get,” she told the outlet.
“I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce.’ I didn’t announce anything. I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move," she continued. "None of us do. I promise you.”

Brunson added that she doesn't like that all of the intimate details of her life is made public.
“No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life — it’s just that that’s public record information,” she continued before adding, “I hate all of it.”
Looking ahead, the Big Mouth actress said she's focusing on putting herself first.
“It’s a transitional time,” she acknowledged. “I think it’s true for me and my personal life, and it’s how I feel about myself, my career, and the world. I feel very serious about focusing on watering my own gardens, taking care of myself and the people around me who I actually interact with day-to-day.”
“I used to look at that as a selfish thing,” she added. “But there’s a reason they tell you to put your oxygen mask on first before you try to help someone else.”
