An NFC West showdown kicks off Week 4 of the NFL season on Thursday Night Football. The Seattle Seahawks head to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in this primetime game between division foes, both sitting at 2-1 and tied for second place along with the Los Angeles Rams out west. Arizona has failed to beat Seattle in its last seven meetings, so the Cardinals will be looking to end that losing streak in Week 4.

Seattle is coming off a huge Week 3 victory where they blew out the New Orleans Saints, 44-13. The Seahawks' special teams really shone in this one, with rookie wide receiver Tory Horton taking a punt return 95 yards for a touchdown and Dareke Young with a 60-yard kick return to set up the offense with prime field position. Quarterback Sam Darnold had an efficient game, completing 14 of 18 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Kenneth Walker III also added two scores on the ground.

The challenge for this Seahawks team is to find out if they can put up points against a Cardinals defense that has allowed just 17 per game through three weeks. Seattle has scored 75 points in the past two games — both wins.

The Cardinals come into Week 4 after a heartbreaking one-point loss to the 49ers last week, 16-15. Arizona's fifth-ranked scoring defense did enough to get the win, but it came up short with the offense offering little support. Kyler Murray passed for just 159 yards, completing 62.8% of his passes with one touchdown. As a team, the Cardinals rushed for 106 yards but lost veteran running back James Conner for the rest of the season with a foot injury that will require surgery, putting 2024 third-round pick Trey Benson into a starting role.

With 65 yards to cover and two seconds left in the half, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals don't opt for a Hail Mary. Instead, Murray throws a short pass to Michael Wilson, who only gains four yards before he's tackled.

Arizona heads to the locker room with boos raining down from the stadium, as fans are disappointed with the first-half performance.

- Fri, September 26, 2025 at 3:19 AM GMT+2Kari AndersonKenneth Walker III flagged with very costly taunting penalty

Kenneth Walker III gets a three-yard rush, but is called for taunting after jawing with Cardinals Kei'Trel Clark. The Seahawks lose 15 yards as a result of the flag.

Walker pointed at Clark with the ball, before later tossing it in Clark's direction. Though Clark appeared to tug on Walker's foot after the tackle, before Walker responded, that response — right in front of the refs — is enough to give the Seahawks a very costly penalty.

As a result, Seattle is forced to punt, wasting a very good opportunity after that big interception.

Marvin Harrison Jr.'s struggles continue, as the receiver drops a ball from Kyler Murray and it lands into the hands of Ernest Jones IV. The official stat line calls it an interception on Murray, but it's Harrison's mistake that gives Seattle the ball.

Seattle's riding its 12-personnel package to early success, both on the ground and through the air.

Chunk gains by running back Kenneth Walker were followed by a third-and-2 conversion by quarterback Sam Darnold, who found wideout Cooper Kupp for a key pickup.

From there, Darnold located tight end AJ Barner for a 16-yard touchdown.

Darnold is 5 of 6 for 78 yards and a score so far.

Cardinals-Seahawks usually delivers some weirdness, and it's already here.

Seattle safety Coby Bryant was in the right place at the right time for a bad Kyler Murray throw and/or a miscommunication between Murray and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Bryant intercepted the pass and ran it back 15 yards before running into linebacker Tyrice Knight and fumbling the ball away.

Cardinals running back Trey Benson recovered the loose ball.
