What is the best type of *Survivor* marooning: on land or at sea? That was the question we posed to fans in our first-ever *Survivor 50* poll to kick off the season. The results were not even close, with 80 percent of viewers choosing sea as their preferred mode of a season-starter.

And why not? You get to watch people jump or dive awkwardly into the ocean… and often after a mad scramble for food and supplies that *also* have to be thrown awkwardly off the side of the boat. Not unlike Colt 45, it works every time.

But while a water-based marooning — which has become something of an extinct species in the new era — is the clear preference for viewers, what is it that the players themselves prefer? Well, we asked them exactly that.

At the New York City premiere for *Survivor 50*, we cornered 20 of the cast members, asking: Which type of marooning do you prefer, on land or at sea? How did they each respond, and what were their reasons? Watch the video below to find out!
