Swift and Hiddleston dated for three months in the summer of 2016

Taylor Swift’s pal Laura Dern is sharing stories about the pop star in front of her actor ex, Tom Hiddleston.

During a Dec. 31 appearance on the U.K. talk show The Graham Norton Show alongside the Night Manager star, Dern, 58, was asked about her friendship with Swift, 36, and her appearance in the music video for her track “Bejewelled.”

Host Norton put it to Dern that, to a certain demographic, she is best known as Swift’s pal.

Dern agreed, and to prove his point, told a funny anecdote about a family vacation to Hawaii, where she and her children were worried she would be swarmed by fans after stumbling upon a Jurassic Park attraction. She starred in the 1993 original.

The actress recounted, “'I said to my young children, ‘this is going to be a nightmare for mom, guys’.”

“And suddenly, I see these three teenage girls start to lose their minds and run toward me. Right under the Jurassic Park sign, they yell, "oh my god! You're the girl in the Taylor Swift video!!"' she revealed with a smile.

All of the other guests laughed at the story, including the English actor, 44, whom Swift dated for about three months in the summer of 2016.

However, some people were quick to point out the awkwardness of the encounter, with viewers of the BBC show commenting on the moment via the BBC's YouTube channel.

“He looks damned uncomfortable on that couch,” wrote one commenter of Hiddleston, while another added, “poor Tom” and a third wrote, “His face says it all,” alongside crying emojis.

Although their romance was short-lived, Swift and Hiddleston were dubbed "HiddleSwift" during their high-profile time together.

Just a few weeks after splitting from music producer Calvin Harris, Swift moved on with Hiddleston — who now shares two children with actress Zawe Ashton — after the two met at the 2016 Met Gala.

Their three-month-long fling included trips to Swift's homes in Rhode Island and Nashville and Hiddleston's native England. The pair broke up in September 2016.

Nevertheless, months later, the actor only had positive things to say about his former girlfriend and angrily hit back at accusations their fling had been faked.

"Of course it was real," Hiddleston told GQ in 2017. "Taylor is an amazing woman. She's generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time."

In March 2017, Hiddleston also pushed back in an interview with U.K. newspaper The Telegraph when asked if he "regretted" the publicity surrounding the relationship.

"What should I regret, in your mind? I would rather not talk about this, if that's all right," he told the interviewer.
